Our clients understood that the redevelopment of this site (the former Cumberland Hotel position) would have a major impact on the local urban environment within Harrow.
This mixed-use development of 205 residential units (including Category3 wheelchair dwellings), basement parking and podium level gardens, is a focal point within the area. The distinctive contemporary, yet complimentary architecture creates a new identity within the urban environment and promotes the site as a destination for the community - not just for the residents. This sustainable social mix will ensure the vibrancy and longevity of the scheme within Harrow and its ultimate success.
Our scheme seeks to encourage community pride and strength of identity by promoting public permeation throughout the site: we have created a community centre (Victoria Hall), a retail unit, effective landscape and public domain design and, by encouraging the use of the adjacent St John’s Baptist Church we are inviting the public to become part of the development.
