Following a review of assets and relocation of staff to other premises, RMG commissioned GHM to create proposals for the conversion of their property at Plympton Street, Marylebone. Situated on a former dairy site, the building historically was designed as two light industrial units with delivery bays off a small mews street. The premises were subsequently converted to offices and linked to the adjacent building to provide an open plan series of work spaces. With a shortage of homes in the area, GHM were briefed to create a third incarnation of the building. We responded with a design to provide four bespoke apartments. The mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom properties, each with internal secure cycle storage, have a unique character reflecting the buildings original design and location. At the heart of the building, a new staircase has been constructed to meet current regulations and the insertion of new roof lights draws natural daylight down into the heart of upper floor apartments. High quality bathrooms, kitchens and solid wooden floors provide luxury and calm to each home at the heart of the capital.
