Northolt Road

The client and design team on this scheme were keen to deliver a development that was safe, well designed and environmentally responsible. By regenerating this large site, located prominently within Harrow, the team were able to create great homes and places where people are proud to live. Fundamentally, we have used a derelict and redundant site and buildings to create a new vibrant community within Harrow, meeting all Origin Housing’s aspirations.

The existing office buildings were demolished and a scheme designed to create 116 mixed tenure units of between six to ten storeys. An amenity area has been created at podium level (above the car park and service areas) to encourage community interaction and pride. Throughout the site environmental issues are promoted - from energy use within the units to being encouraged to walk or cycle rather than use private vehicular transport.

All the units are designed to Lifetime Homes standards and a proportion are fully adaptable wheelchair dwellings for accessibility. All dwellings are served by a communal heating system (CHP) and there is also provision within the parking area for electrical car charging, meeting the growing demand for environmental provision.
